XILS-lab The Eighty

Bringing a legendary synth to life in 3D

The Eighty by XILS-lab is a software emulation of the iconic Yamaha CS-80 — the synthesizer behind the sounds of Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre and countless film scores. Jean-Michel Jarre himself described it as "faithful to the original yet going far beyond, organic, fat and futuristic."

I designed the complete graphical user interface and created all the 3D promotional visuals: high-resolution stills showcasing the instrument from every angle, and animated sequences used in the official promotional video. The goal was to convey both the craftsmanship of the original hardware and the modernity of the software, through detailed 3D renders with dramatic lighting and cinematic compositions.
